Angelo Geraci

Associate Professor

MSc in Electrical Engineering (Politecnico di Milano, 1993) and PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Politecnico di Milano, 1996) with honors. Associate Professor since 2004 at Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) of Politecnico di Milano. His main research interests are digital systems based on configurable devices (FPGAs, DSPs and SoC) in the areas of in the areas of smart mobility, radiation detection, medical imaging, industrial and environmental applications. Lecturer of  'Sistemi elettronici digitali' and 'Digital electronic systems design' courses at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering of Politecnico di Milano and of 'Signal Integrity in very high-speed digital circuits' course at the PhD program in Information Technology. He is scientific collaborator of the Italian National Nuclear Physics Institute (INFN) since 1995 and Senior Member of IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Society. He is Member of the Directive Board and Deputy Coordinator of the PhD School in Information Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He is auditor of projects on behalf of the Italian MIUR. Referee for several international journals, he is author and co-author of more than 350 scientific international papers and 1 patent (IEEE Transactions Prize Paper award for 2004 by the IEEE Power Electronic Society). Co-founder of 2 companies, he has been managing more than 10 R&D projects of product innovation through digital electronics in cooperation with private and public companies (RFI, ST-Microelectronics, RSE, Selex Galileo, CAEN, etc.).

Nicola Lusardi

Assistant Professor

BSc and MSc with honors in Electronic Engineering and PhD in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano. His research activity is focused on digital architectures on configurable devices  and in particular of systems at the state-of-the-art for time measurement. Associated to the Italian National Nuclear Physics Institute (INFN), to CERN (Genevre) in the LHCb experiment and member of the IEEE.

He is author of more than 40 scientific international papers.

In 2019 is co-founder of TEDIEL srl.

In June 2020 becomes Assistant Professor (RTDa) at DEIB and in November 2020 receives the IEEE Glenn F. Knoll Post-Doctoral Educational Grant in Nuclear Science and Instrumentation.

In April 2023 becomes Assistant Professor (RTDb) at DEIB

Fabio Garzetti

Research Assistant

BSc and MSc in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He is research assistant and attends the PhD course in Information Technology at Politecnico. His research activity is focused on topics regarding innovative solutions for calibration and triggering of asynchronous signals for time measurements, in particular using Time-to-Digital Converters (TDCs) in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA).

He is author of more than 20 scientific international papers.

In 2019 is co-founder of TEDIEL srl.

In March 2023 becomes Assistant Professor (RTDa) at DEIB.

Enrico Ronconi

Research Assistant

Enrico Ronconi received his Bachelor and Master degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2017 and 2020. His research topic is focused on advanced Programmable Logic (PL) and software architectures for data elaboration and transfer in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) implemented scientific equipment, currently used and developed together with the Time-to-Digital and Digital-to-Time converters (TDC and DTC) developed in the same laboratory.

Andrea Costa

Research Assistant


Andrea Costa, born in Piacenza, received his BSc in Biomedical Engineering (2017) and his MSc in Electronics Engineering (2020), both at Politecnico di Milano. His research topics wrap around innovative hardware architectures for data elaboration in the field FPGA time-domain devices and FPGA DAQ for high data rate environments.
Passionate about swimming, having grown up as a full-time competitive swimmer alongside his scholastic career.

Gabriele Bonanno

Research Assistant

Gabriele Bonanno has received his Bachelor and Master degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2020 and 2023. His research topics include high speed architectures for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and low level software development, with main focus on the field of Time-To-Digital Converters (TDC).
